When were you born?
The day is enough to start. I can be more exact if you know more.
A birth chart is a diagram of where the Sun, Moon and planets were, seen from the exact spot on Earth where you were born, at the minute you were born. That part is not a belief — it is a position calculation, the same arithmetic that predicts eclipses, run backwards to your birthday.
What astrology adds is a reading: it treats those positions as a language for talking about a life. That step is a tradition, not a finding. Both halves are worth having, and it is worth knowing which one you are looking at.
How this calculator works
Positions come from the astronomy-engine library — real ephemeris arithmetic, not a lookup table of pre-made charts. The zodiac is tropical and the houses are whole sign, which is the oldest house system and the one that stays legible when you are new to this.
Your chart is recalculated every single time something is written for you, and never cached. That sounds like a technical detail and it is not: the day you correct your birth time, everything you get afterwards is right, with nothing to clear or rebuild.
What if I do not know my birth time?
It still works, and you still get every planet by sign and every aspect between them — which is most of a chart. What you do not get is the Ascendant, because it moves through all twelve signs in twenty-four hours and cannot be worked out from the day alone.
Gori will not guess it. Houses are worked out from your Sun sign instead — a real traditional method called solar houses, and a rougher one — and every reading that uses them says so.
Is this actually free?
The chart and the placements are free and need no account. A new reading is free every day once you sign in, and never uses credits. The longer written reports are what credits are for.
