Your Moon sign
What is my Moon sign?
Your Moon takes about two and a half days per sign. Let me place it exactly.
When were you born?
The day is enough to start. I can be more exact if you know more.
Your Sun sign is what you are aiming at. Your Moon sign is what you need — what settles you, and how you react before you have decided how to react. It is the half of a chart people recognise instantly once someone describes it, and the half that almost never matches the horoscope in a magazine.
Why your Moon sign is often a surprise
The Moon moves about thirteen degrees a day and changes sign every two and a bit days. Two people born a week apart share a Sun sign and almost never share a Moon.
That is also why it cannot be worked out from your birthday alone the way the Sun can. It needs the date, and it is meaningfully better with the time.
How accurate is a Moon sign without a birth time?
Gori calculates it from midday when the time is missing. Measured across 9,600 test charts — 400 days at every hour — the sign that comes out is wrong 10.8% of the time. That is roughly one chart in nine.
The arithmetic agrees: the average gap between the midday Moon and the real Moon is about 3.3°, and a sign is 30° wide. 3.3 ÷ 30 is 11%.
So Gori will give you the Moon sign, and will not build a claim on it alone when the time is missing. If you know your birth time, put it in — the difference is real.
What does the Moon actually do in a chart?
It rules the fourth house, home and the private half of a life. In a reading it answers: what do you do when you are tired, what makes a place feel safe, what you keep asking for without saying it out loud.
A Moon in a fire sign needs motion to settle. A Moon in a water sign settles by feeling something all the way through. Neither is better. They are just different instructions for the same job.
